Early in my life as a child, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that involved the activity of drawing. At one point I thought that profession would be Civil Engineering. However, as I grew from a child to a teen, I realized that I wanted to pursue Architecture. The field of Architecture allowed me to navigate a more creative path than the Engineering crafts would’ve afforded me. The more creative path was a great decision that I would not trade for any other in the world. The love and passion that I carry for the pursuit of all that Architecture embodies, is a result of the wide scope of study and practical implementation that is involved. As a pursuant of Architecture one needs to delve into the study of the human psychic, behavior, interpersonal interactions, historical patterns, human interaction with the environment, and why humans interact with their environments the way they do. Architecture also embodies the technical aspects of creating, maintaining, inspiring, and influencing all aspects of the human experience. Immersing oneself in Architectural academia imbues a capacity to endeavor to be good stewards toward the natural environment that may not always be present in other creative/technical fields. The wide breadth of study involved in Architectural academia includes subjects such as; Electrical, HVAC, Structural, Environmental, Graphic Design, Digital Design, Furniture Design, Urban Design, Landscape Design, Painting, Photography, the Natural Sciences, etc. This range of study gives one a solid foundation to research thoroughly, learn tangible skills, and adaptability to all areas of design. This is embodied by the idea of the Universal Man, sometimes also referred to as the Renaissance Man, an individual who invariably seeks to excel in all aspects of life.
